Yesterday, mom went in for another ultrasound, to see how big the baby was, and how he was doing. :) He is 4.8 pounds, and it a perfect little guy. Mom was originally going be induced in a week, but baby is smaller than average, so she is going to wait until full term. Marh 19 is the due date. We have been really worried about her, and are so grateful for all the prayers of friends and family. 2 weeks ago, she weighed 93 pounds, at 34 weeks! Yikes! Her mid-wife told her that if she couldn't immediately start gaining weight, then she was endanger of having a heart attack, and would have to have a C-section. This scared mom pretty bad, and so she forced herself to start eating more. She was ALWAYS gasping for breath, but she was able to gain 5 pounds in 2 weeks! Wahoo! Go mom!! We are SO excited for this little guy. She has almost literally been on bed rest for the last few months, because she didn't have enough energy, because of lack of food. She had to choose between eating and breathing, and naturally, she chose breathing. The baby pushs against her lungs, and if she eats, it fills her stomach up even more, and makes the pressure on her lungs, extreme. But, since she started eating more, she had been able to get some more energy, even though she still struggles. It is amazing to me, watching her go through this, and the sacrifice she is making to bring a little person into the world. She has been pregnant, for almost 12 months straight, counting the pregnancy that she mis-carried. But, it's all worth it in the end, right?
*This picture was taken at 35 weeks, but she is at 36 weeks now. :)
