FHE ~ Laser Mania

We have been trying to make some last family memories with Jordan before he leaves for 2 years so, for family home evening we went to Laser Mania. This was kind of a make-up thing, because we were going to go skiing on Saturday, but Jordan got sick. Laser Mania was SO much fun!! The whole family stayed and played one round (about 20 minutes) but Jordan and I stayed for another 2 hours. The game; The point of the game is to shoot the other people with your laser. If your laser hits there chest, shoulders or gun, then their gun turns off for about 5 seconds. At the end of the game, who ever shot the most people wins. Jordan of course beat all of us. But I did come in second!!
Lets start this game!

Brett and majorly tall Jordan. I think this is the cutest picture ever...

Our crazy dad....

Getting on our gear....

Watch out, here he comes!!

Bam!! And I am shot!!

Civil War Re-enactment

I got to go to this thing that some kids in my school participated in where you re-enact the civil war for 2 days and one night. It was SO amazing, and SOOO cold!!! We got awesome uniforms, but they were extremely itchy... Under my uniform, I was wearing 4 layers. A tank top, shirt, sweater AND a big fluffy coat, and yet I was still freezing!!! Some things we did; washed LOTS of potatoes for dinner and breakfast, did a bunch of dishes in freezing water, wore funny hats, march around learning drills, learn how to load and fire a gun with gun powder, use a bayonet, we also had to get up for shifts during the night to "keep watch" I had to get up from 12:00 to 12:30. It was cold!! We had to march around camp for 30 minutes carrying 12 lbs. guns. Trying to keep warm, while we eat our dinner. Here is what our breakfast looked like. Not very yummy. I gave mine to the fire...

These are the tents that we had to squish 2 people into. And my tent we had to squish 3 girls all in. We stayed up until 12:00 and then we couldn't fall asleep until 2:30. We also had to wake up at 5:00. So I got a total of 2 and a half hours of sleep that night. Oh and they don't even count, because we would wake up every half hour to try and pull the blankets up. *notice also that there are no ends so the cold wind could blow in... It was in the low 30's that night.* In the morning, we all huddled around the fire and TRIED to get warm.

It was so much fun to learn how to shoot a gun, but they were LOUD and HEAVY!! I could barely lift them high enough to aim them to the sky, not to mention that when you pulled the trigger you had to use 2 fingers.
Over all, it was WAY fun, but I was glad to get back home, and sleep in a WARM bed.

Jordans is going on a mission!!

Jordan got his mission call!! We are all SO excited for him!!! He will be going to Arizona, Tucson spanish speaking. We all thought that was funny because we lived in Arizona for 5 years before we moved to St. George. But Jordan is really excited!! We are having a bitter\sweet experience. We are going to miss him A LOT!!! He is such an awesome brother. He is so much fun, and is a champion foosball player. We RARELY beat him.

We are going to miss him SOOOO much. He is excited to be able to learn another language though. His mission boundaries also include Texas and New Mexico. So that will be fun. We are all going to miss him sorely, but are glad he has the opportunity to be able to serve.

Ali and her horse back riding

Ali has been working hard at horse back riding! She really enjoys it. It seems like every day she is either mucking out stalls, (to earn money for horse back riding lessons) or she is riding horses. She took first place in every event in one of her shows! She looks forward to any time with horses, and likes Brett to come along too! He gets to play in the hay during her lesson and then she lets him ride bare back to the pen. He really enjoys that!

A quick catch up on the Doughty life!

Hey everyone, sorry it has been so long, our computer crashed, and it had all of our pictures on it. But I have been having an amazing summer! Girls camp was amazing! (although it rained almost the whole time!) and Stake Trek was an amazing experience too!!! Oh and I almost forgot, Youth For America (YFA) was INCREDIBLE! anyway, I will tell more about it soon, we just need to fix that computer so I can put up all of the fun pictures....

Ali and Brett's opening night is on Monday for "Annie Get Your Gun." Brett is ADORABLE in it! And Ali is really good to! Brett plays the role of Annie's little brother. He is SO cute, but everyone in the show is amazing! I will take lots of pictures, and put them up soon! You would miss out BIG time by not coming to see this play!! They are performing around 18 times, so it will be hard to miss!! (We aren't allowed to cut Brett's hair until after the play, so right now he looks like a mangy beast! It is so fun to mess around with his hair, we have managed to put it in to little piggy tails. Ha~ha pictures soon I promise!!)

Sand Hallow lake, and camping!

We went to sand hallow, about 30 minutes away from where we lived. We had SO much fun! This is the first time I (and the kids) had been camping as a family! (well mom and Jordan decided that they would like to stay home and sleep in a bed....)

Silly Ali..... she didn't want a normal picture... of course not, that would be to BORING!

I got to invite some friends.. it was a lot of fun!! In this picture Ashelyn, Me, Karlee.... Maegan came too, but she is not in this picture.

the kids hiding in the tall reeds....

This was a really cool place to take pictures.
Best Friends FOREVER!!I think that this is one of my favorite pictures from that day. ( Maegan on the left, and me on the right)
I love that way all of the picture turned out!

The water was perfect! Not to hot, not to cold....

She would not even hold still for a picture.. but I kinda like this one.We love little Brett. He is growing up so fast! of course he does everything that Ali does, and if Ali doesn't have time for pictures, neither does he..... Ha~ha
Ali and Brett had a lot of fun. They would take the reeds and whip each other... that stopped right after Brett got hurt...

After getting wet we built a fire.... it was so much fun! and yes we did eat smores, but no the kind that you are used too. We put banana's and carob chips on graham crackers... it was pretty good but not my favorite.

there were million's of little bugs! they were like baby misquito's or they were knats. either one, they were annoying, they would swarm above your head and follow you every where!!
(you can kind of see them above my dads head)

Brett had fun with the fire.

Brett got a flaming stick from the fire and used it to chase away the bugs.... Ha~ha He saved us all!!

we took cover from the bugs under our towel....

The bugs were everywhere! Can you see the little black dots? yep, those are all bugs. Next time we will bring bug spray!

hehe, Me and Karlee, smushed banana between our teeth.... haha, you are never to old to do that! haha

We had so much fun this weekend.. but a hint to any one who wants to spend a night outside...

DON'T FORGET BUG SPRAY!!!

WHO SAYS HOMESCHOOLERS CAN'T HAVE FUN?!!?!

I FINISHED ALL OF MY CLASSES!!! After the end of the school year we have a parents night where we show our parents what we have done that year. After we had a really fun dance. We danced until 11:00.. It was SO much fun. My knees hurt so bad. The next morning (at five am.) I went and babysat. When I had to take the baby downstairs I sat on my bottom and put him on my lap and scooted down the stairs, because my legs still hurt... Ha~ha... I had WAY to much fun!!!
Me and one of my best~est friends Ashelyn
Sh~weet!!! My other best~est friend Karlee! (Karlee and Ashelyn are sisters)
Me and Josh dancing... I forgot the name of the dance
haha, do you like the hat? Chase gives different people a hat every time he goes to a party... I swear he has like a million hats... He is always wearing one. He gave this hat to Karlee, but because her hair was in a bun, she couldn't wear it. So I got to wear it for the night!

Heck yes!! Gansta!!!
I was SO tired by the end of that night!! It was WAY fun!!!! (I look freaky in this picture!! ha~ha) I LOVE MY FRIENDS!!!!! <3
